I’m about to hit a major milestone – thirty years in the travel industry! Can you believe it? 🎉 🥳 🥂
For a lot of folks just starting out, that number probably seems pretty wild. Maybe you’ve been a travel agent for six months or maybe a couple of years, and you’re thinking that thirty years doesn’t seem possible. But it’s true!
So how have I come to have such a long career in this business? 🤔
For one thing, I love to travel. 🛳️ I love to talk about travel. 🛫 I love to help other people experience the same joys I get out of travel. Love it. That’s a major key to longevity in this industry.
But neck-and-neck with the love I have for travel is my ability to roll with the changes. (If you’re hearing 🎧 an REO Speedwagon song in your head now, you’re welcome.) I’ve seen dramatic changes, from the rise of the internet, to 9-11, to COVID-19, and more that have all shifted the landscape of the travel business. To keep going through all of this for as long as I have, I’ve had to adjust, to learn, to adapt, and to embrace.

What I’ve learned through all the changes in the travel industry is that people love to travel no matter what, and that’s not going to change. And that means they will always need good travel professionals who love travel like we do to help them have the best experience possible – and that’s you!
So keep on rolling, follow your passion, and don’t be surprised if thirty years from now you’re reminiscing about how much has changed since the start of your travel career!
