One of the questions I hear all the time is, “Cyndi, do I really need a travel agent certification?” 🤔
The answer, technically, is no. You don’t. There are a bajillion travel agents out there who have not been through any certification program and have nothing they can stamp on their website to show their credentials. All they do is declare, “hey folks, I’m a travel agent now” and hope for the best.
There are so many problems with this approach that can be resolved with the proper training and development a good certification program provides. For instance, you can find yourself trying to figure out the ins-and-outs of the travel business on your own as you go along. This is inefficient at best, and can open you up to liability for mistakes if things go wrong. Definitely something to avoid.
