I’ve been in the travel business for 30 years – 30 years! – so I have a ton of experience and knowledge that has built up over all that 🕰️ time. All that accumulated wisdom makes me feel very confident in every aspect of working in travel and helping others to do the same. 👍
But I wasn’t always this way. There was a time, way back in the Dark Ages (a.k.a. the 90s) when I was taking my first 👶 👣 baby steps toward being a travel professional. Like every other travel agent in the world, I wasn’t born knowing what to do to sell travel. I had to start somewhere.
For me, that start was working for a big 🏢 travel company. That’s where I learned the ropes, and I learned them so well that I wound up teaching the new hire classes myself!
So if you’re just starting out as a travel agent, I want to recommend that you time travel to the 90s and get hired on at the corporation where I was teaching. See you back then!
