The American Society of Travel Advisors, or ASTA, is the largest organization representing travel advisors and travel-related businesses. This can include everybody from individual independent 🙋 travel agents, big 🏢 travel agencies, travel suppliers, and even 🏫 travel schools like Careers on Vacation. If a business has something to do with travel, there’s a great chance that it will fall under the ☂️ umbrella of ASTA.
Which leads me to the questions I get all the time about the American Society of Travel Advisors.
- Does a travel business have to become ASTA-affiliated, legally?
- What does ASTA actually do, and why does it matter?
- What are the pros and cons of becoming ASTA-affiliated? (In other words, “what’s in it for me?”)
- Should I wait until my travel business has grown to a certain size before joining?
I address these questions and more in my new 📽️ video, “What Does the American Society of Travel Advisors Do and Why It Matters.” Take a look below.
I want you to be as informed as possible about what ASTA can (and can’t) do for your travel business. Becoming affiliated with ASTA can confer benefits on any travel business, but there are 💲 costs to consider. Whether the pros ⚖️ outweigh the cons of becoming ASTA-affiliated at this stage of your travel business, the decision is up to you.
