People become travel agents at a variety of different stages in their lives, and for a variety of different reasons. However they arrive at their dream job as a travel agent, the levels of traditional education they have attained are going to vary from person to person.
But what kind of education is required to be a travel agent? Do you have to have a 🎓 four-year degree? Are there required certifications to acquire? Or can you just jump right in the deep end with both feet but no specific educational qualifications?
The thing with being a travel agent is, technically there may not be any travel agent education requirements, but if you want to succeed and do the job well, you absolutely need an education.
You probably don’t need to know when the Battle of Hastings was fought or the average airspeed velocity of an unladen Swallow, but you had better know your stuff about the destinations you are selling and the ins and outs of how to book vacations. If you don’t do your homework, your clients aren’t going to have a good experience, and they aren’t going to come back to you.
When it comes to travel agent education requirements, you can find out everything you need to know in my latest 📽️ video, “What Kind Of Education Is Required To Be A Travel Agent?” I tell you about different ways you can acquire training, certifications, and ongoing education that will serve your travel business – and your clients – throughout your travel agent career.
I hope you get a lot out of the video. If you are ready to work hard and keep your training up to date, you will be well on your way to a successful and rewarding career as a travel agent.
